About Us
Baker's Garden is a small husband and wife operated farm.
Our mission statement is " Growing for flavor and Beauty " If we grow it.. it must taste great, be nutritious, and look amazing.
Even though our focus is on growing food, our repertoire also includes a variety of cut flowers some edible and some grown for their beauty.
Our farm is near the Long Hunter State Park 20 minutes from the Nashville Airport.
Located at the head of the Volunteer Trail, we are surrounded by 11 miles of natural hiking trails full of lake activities and tons of wild life including deer, turkey, rabbit and a wide variety of large and small birds.

Practices
In an effort to increase the quality of our soil and to grow the best food we can our practices are organic and sustainable.
We use a combination of organic compost and natural native soils as the main growing medium, most of our growing beds are made in the " No Till " style.
We practice crop rotation as a way to minimize funguses and other carryover plant diseases, we reduce the use of city water by using a combination of collected rain and well water, our watering practices are also reduced by the use of woodchips as a moisture retention method.
Our fertilizers are natural organic and used in most cases only at the beginning of the growing season when we turn and aerate the soil on the growing beds.
Even though we are not Certified Organic.. at Baker's Garden we feel that growing organically is a matter of integrity and moral responsibility.
A long time ago my wife and I made a mindful commitment to learn how to grow foods in ways that are beneficial to the human body and that contribute to the overall well being of the plants and animals we interact with.
